About The Position

Under minimal supervision, provide expert-level experience in the repair, calibration, and maintenance of medical equipment, instrumentation and support systems used in healthcare delivery. Execute inventory assessments/audits and preventive maintenance of medical equipment. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all service events, tests and maintenance performed on clinical equipment. Responsible for the coordination of Biomed projects, device integration and installations. Work collaboratively with vendor tech support. Serve as a mentor and resource for Biomed I and Biomed II Technicians. Provide education and training for other techs and clinical equipment specialists. As needed or requested, provide technical consultation and training to caregivers as related to medical equipment being utilized.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree.
  • 4 Years of Experience.
  • Associate's Degree in Electronics Technology preferred; or a combination of education, military equivalent training and experience in medical equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Considerable knowledge of electronic theory and circuitry and technical aspects of the operation, repair and maintenance of electronic equipment.
  • Considerable knowledge of the application and repair of computers and servers and how they interface with medical equipment.
  • Skilled in Information Technology domains, including networking and databases.
  • Considerable knowledge of current regulatory requirements.
  • Understand and comply with Joint Commission and other applicable standards and regulations (e.g., FDA, CDPH, OHS and other Ancillary specialty regulatory bodies).
  • Collaborate with Information Technology to ensure HIPAA compliance and connectivity of biomedical devices.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 5 Years of Experience.
  • 6 years' experience with electronic equipment repair or equivalent.
  • Extensive knowledge of the application and repair of computers and servers and how they interface with medical equipment.
  • Knowledge and experience with Device Integration.
  • Prior experience with Information Technology with focus on networking.
  • Certification and/or Licensure in A+ and/or other Biomed Specialties (CRES, CLES) is preferred.
