About The Position

ECU Health Medical Center, one of four academic medical centers in North Carolina, is the 974-bed flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the primary teaching hospital for The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. ECU Health Medical Center has achieved Magnet® designation twice and provides acute and intermediate care, rehabilitation and outpatient health services to a 29-county region that is home to more than 1.4 million people. The Biomedical Technician II completes performance, assurance and safety inspections on medical equipment. He/she maintains and repairs all Biomedical equipment and provides in-service training on all medical equipment. He/she will maintain proper documentation in compliance with TJC and other regulatory agencies, and account for 85% of time worked and all parts used. He/she performs maintenance and repairs on medical equipment at outside facilities as needed, and performs maintenance and repairs on medical equipment through VMC. The technician will take call as needed, participate in guest relations, and maintain a clean work environment.

Requirements

  • High School or equivalent.
  • 2 or more years of formal training or education with an advanced diploma or associate degree in electronic technology, electronic servicing, computer engineering, or biomedical engineering.
  • 3-4 years experience as a Biomedical Technician, Electronics Technician, Computer Technician or other related field.
  • Valid North Carolina Drivers License required.
