Under supervision, performs general duties which include, but are not limited to, equipment set up; preventive maintenance; repair and inspection of various biomedical and non-clinical equipment to assure electrical safety and efficient operation within technical guidelines and manufacturer's specifications. Basic biomedical/electromechanical equipment includes, but is not limited to: defibrillators, electro surgical units, digital thermometers, digital scales, sterilizers, surgical lights, beds, stretchers, nurse call, various CSP and lab equipment. Takes the appropriate action to accomplish tasks as directed, such as receiving, inspection, and test of new equipment; selection of appropriate replacement parts and sources; accurately documents activities and related information on work order forms, and so forth.
