About The Position

Responsible for timely and maintaining scheduled deliveries of medical supplies, equipment, main, medical records to WTH locations. Incumbent will also be responsible for hauling and proper disposition of bio hazard waste/materials. This includes following all policies and procedures required for hauling bio hazard waste and following all safety regulations. Responsible for tracking packages and incoming/outgoing deliveries. Responsible for receiving medical supplies and equipment into the automated inventory management system. Employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or high school equivalent certificate
  • Valid Tennessee Drivers License
  • Must have F Endorsement
  • Must be insurable
  • Experience in driving a truck and making deliveries through orientation and on the job training according to WTH guidelines.
  • Experience and training will be provided for healthcare inventory management systems.
  • Automated Inventory Control Management Systems
  • Basic Computer knowledge
  • Ability to follow inventory control guidelines
  • Writing and interpretation of receiving documents
  • Able to complete schedules for deliveries
  • Ability to interpret and follow all safety guidelines
  • Ability to follow bio hazard policies and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of all goods that are assigned to delivery driver or picking up bio waste from WTH facilities.
  • Driver must accurately complete all required forms and documents.
  • Driver must drive safely at all times and conduct timely safety inspections of the truck and follow all West Tennessee healthcare Safety Guidelines.
  • Must follow designated route provided by materials management.
  • Must be able to communicate all bio waste policies and procedures to facilities.
  • Communicates any delays of service.
  • Responsible for making decisions and answering inquiries about bio waste.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper containment of bio hazard materials.
  • Responsible for unloading and documentation for the sani-pak.
  • Responsible for keeping licensure up to date.
  • Responsible for securing cargo to prevent movement or spills during transport.
  • Must maintain up to date records of contact information and back up contact information of personnel responsible for bio hazard materials at each WTH location.
  • Must ensure all permits and insurance documents are up to date and maintained in the truck at all times.
  • Must follow safety protocols for loading, unloading, parking and route restrictions.
  • In case of an accident, truck driver must ensure the safety of all nearby people and contact proper authorities.
  • Receives and processes all general medical supplies and equipment in a timely manner.
  • Back up to mailroom specialist
  • Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.
