About The Position

This position helps make gospel teachings, resources, or services accessible to all in a simple and affordable way, supporting the mission of the Church. This is a physically demanding entry level position. This position's main purpose is to assist other operators on bindery equipment by feeding materials into machines or taking finished product off of machines. Will be boxing product, doing quality checks, running small machines as needed such as drill, shrink wrapper, etc. Candidate needs to be self-motivated, work with minimal direction to maximize productive output and quality control. Accountable for meeting production schedules and deadlines for each operation or process performed. Occasionally need to work overtime and/or shift work to accomplish the work. Operators are expected to adhere to safety and quality standards, maintain a clean and organized work area, ensure efficient and productive operation of the equipment, meet or exceed production standards, adhere to schedules and customer specifications. This position is currently working M-F 7:00am - 3:30pm. However, this is changing a few weeks from now as the new shift will be 6:00am - 4:30pm four days per week (Four 10 hour shifts that may rotate days off - Monday/Friday).

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or have U.S. documents that authorize working in the United States.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have excellent English communication skills including speaking, reading, writing and understanding English effectively.
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver products weighing up to 50 pounds with no assistance; be able to lift larger loads with physical or mechanical assistance.
  • Must be able to work as an effective and efficient member of a production team yet be able to work independently as production schedules and skills/training require.
  • Must have good manual dexterity and be able to perform fast paced repetitive actions while standing or sitting for the entire shift.
  • Must be able to bend, squat, stretch, reach, climb, etc. constantly throughout assigned shift.
  • Must be able to learn, perform and rotate between alternating job assignments and machinery quickly and easily.
  • Must be able to work courteously with associates of various educational, ethnic, cultural and experience backgrounds.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must have and maintain a good attendance and on-time record.
  • Requires basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • May be required to work varying shifts and overtime as required to meet production schedules and deadlines including some holidays.
  • Must be willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to the area and the job being performed.

Nice To Haves

  • Intermediate level computer skills preferred.
  • Production/Manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate as a team member in the operation of bindery and finishing equipment by feeding materials and associated components into machines.
  • Assisting with operations such as feeding pockets, boxing, hand collating materials, other handwork, etc., whenever needed under the direction of a lead operator, supervisor or group manager.
  • Maintain quality control standards according to job specifications.
  • Maintain and record information such as job count, quality checks, etc. as assigned by lead operator or supervisor.
  • Maintain and clean machinery and assigned work areas as assigned by lead operator or supervisor.
  • Other duties as needed or assigned.
