About The Position

The Bindery Operator is responsible for the setup, adjustment and safe operation of all relevant bindery equipment to produce finished quality products that meet customer specifications and quality standards.

Requirements

  • 1 years’ experience of working within a fast-paced production or manufacturing environment
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency
  • Basic math skills, ability to perform mathematical functions of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Ability to read and understand corporate policies, job-related documents, and written/verbal instructions in English to ensure effective and compliant job performance.
  • Ability to work flexible, extended hours and weekends as required
  • Quality oriented
  • Reading comprehension in relation to job ticket assignment and customer instructional specifications
  • Detail-oriented and organized work ethic including efficient time management skills, with proven track record of completion of tasks/assignments
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment

Responsibilities

  • Access and review batching systems and job tickets to identify priority work and plan processes according to customer specifications.
  • Set up machines, verify readiness, and adjust operating parameters to meet production requirements.
  • Monitor machine performance during operation, making adjustments as needed to maintain quality, efficiency, and material flow.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure products meet established specifications and quantity standards; provide status updates to the supervisor.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues and resolve when possible; promptly notify the Floor Supervisor of unresolved concerns.
  • Conduct routine machine maintenance, lubrication, and cleaning to ensure optimal performance.
  • Unload materials from machines and stack finished products on pallets safely and accurately.
  • Remove waste materials for recycling and maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with housekeeping standards.
  • Complete all required paperwork, records, and documentation accurately and on time.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and workstations are maintained in safe, working condition; immediately report hazards, injuries, illnesses, or near-misses to management.
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and comply with all company safety rules, policies, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in departmental and company meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
