The position involves setting up, adjusting, and operating a folder machine and various auxiliary binding machines. Responsibilities include inspecting equipment for safety issues, operating automatic adhesive binding machines, making adjustments to coordinate multiple workstations, and monitoring quality and productivity. The job requires physical exertion and the ability to train and support team members.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret written work orders or job specifications.
  • Must be able to calculate distances, clearances, and fits in combining machines.
  • Skill in using standard and specialized tools to adjust and maintain bindery machines.
  • General knowledge of complex bindery machines.
  • Thorough knowledge of setup, operating requirements, and procedures of bindery machines.
  • Knowledge of quality and machining requirements of various paper stocks.
  • Skill in setting up and adjusting machines for finishing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, adjust and operate a folder machine and a variety of auxiliary binding machines.
  • Inspect equipment for safety issues.
  • Operate automatic adhesive binding machines (perfect binders).
  • Make needed adjustments to coordinate the multiple work stations on a single machine.
  • Direct crew through all aspects of production.
  • Monitor quality, output, and productivity.
  • Train and support new and existing team members as assigned.
