This role will require onsite presence at our Valmeyer, IL facility. MAR Graphics 523 S Meyer Ave, Valmeyer, IL 62295 Pay: $17-$22 per hr. Position Overview: Routinely operates a variety of bindery and finishing equipment based on job ticket instructions. Conducts routine maintenance and makes minor repairs to equipment as necessary.

Requirements

  • Attendance: Employee must be meeting attendance expectations – no more than unexcused 3 absences, no more than 6 unexcused tardy occurrences, and 0 “No Call-No Shows” within the last 90 days. Unexcused occurrences do not include pre-approved accommodations provided by the Person Office.
  • Tenure: Employee must have a minimum of 90 days tenure at Qualfon.
  • Performance: Employee must be meeting KPI expectations. Agent cannot have any current corrective actions at a written level or probation/final warning
  • High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.); 1 - 5 years of related training and experience and demonstrated competency in the operation of four of the bindery machines noted above.
  • Ability to read, correspondence, memos, technical procedures and follow job folder instructions. Ability to effectively communicate, present information and respond to questions from supervisors, customers and other employees of the Company.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to define problems and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with multiple variables.
  • Ability to prioritize daily work and projects. Multiple operational skills and individual flexibility are required to meet the needs of the business and customers.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand and walk for the entire shift. The employee is also required to reach with hands and arms, to frequently stoop or kneel, crouch, and routinely lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews job folder for special instructions pertaining to any bindery and finishing requirements.
  • Primarily responsible for the set up and operation of one of the following pieces of equipment, but can operate most pieces of equipment in the Bindery department: -Inserter -Folder -Label Affixer -Stitcher -Trimmer
  • Reports production problems and/or errors to identify possible changes in procedures to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Ensures equipment maintenance is performed and reports any down time that will affect production schedules and delivery commitments.
  • Operates all equipment using proper safety procedures; uses proper lifting techniques; ensures that carts and pallets are properly stowed and completes housekeeping on a routine basis.
