About The Position

Opening its doors over 45 years ago, FSSI is a leading document outsourcing company servicing Fortune 500 companies in the financial, banking, insurance and billing industries across the U.S. We’re looking for a full-time Bindery Operator to join our team in Orlando, Florida. This position is responsible for performing machine setup and operation of print finishing equipment in the Bindery department. Full time schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 am - 6:30 pm (Eastern time). Overtime is scheduled on an as needed basis. Extended hours are usually scheduled at least once a month, typically during the first 7 days of each month to complete month end processing. Additional overtime could be scheduled during the week, and could include weekends in rare circumstances.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience as a Machine Operator in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred
  • Effectively read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Flexibility, as overtime and weekend hours are available, and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Employees must regularly use hands for grasping, handling, or feeling, reach with arms, and communicate.
  • Standing is required for up to 10 hours daily, involving continuous upper body movement.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds independently.
  • Specific vision required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and focus adjustments.

Responsibilities

  • Learn the various aspects of the print finishing processes and equipment with the purpose of improving operation skillsets, competency, and knowledge of the machines and work produced in the Bindery department.
  • Operates or tends machines that perform print finishing operations, such as, inserting, folding, cutting, tabbing, Inkjet, Ballots, Sample Ballots and TRIM in a demanding high-speed environment.
  • Accurately set-up equipment for optimal production throughput.
  • Consistently perform duties in a safe manner, following company safety rules.
  • Follow all established quality control procedures to consistently produce accurate and quality work.
  • Flexibility in work schedule, frequently 10 or more hours per day, is required on a recurring basis.
  • Additional work, as assigned.
