About The Position

SUMMARY
Performs the set-up, running and maintenance of miscellaneous Bindery machinery, and assists Bindery Machine Operators in the operation of assigned equipment by feeding, taking off or packing finished product.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Does hand collating and other manual tasks in Bindery.
Catches completed signatures or printed pieces at delivery end of binding equipment.
Assists in cutting, folding, collating, stitching and binding of jobs.
Sets up and operates punches.
Sets up and operates spiral, sire-O and plastic binder.
Sets up and operates perforating and/or scoring machine.
Sets up and operates strip or pattern gluer.
Performs padding procedures.
Does eyeleting.
Operates power drill.
Does round cornering.
Does laminating.
Sets up and operates tab cutter.
Cleans up and keeps work area neat and orderly.
Performs other duties as requested.

Requirements

• Ability to read and understand written instructions including those dealing with dimensions and quantity.
• Ability to apply written instructions to machine set-up.
• Good manual dexterity necessary.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of stitchers and binding operations is a plus.
• Knowledge of the operation and function of the other bindery equipment and machinery is a plus.
