Varsity Spirit, A Varsity Achievement Brand, is looking to hire a Seasonal Machine Operator to join our Cover Box team. As a member of the Varsity Yearbook Kansas City Yearbook team, you will be responsible for being a valuable resource to the Cover Department with attention to production quotas and quality.

Requirements

  • Must be able to operate forklift and hand jack.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Must be able to operate forklift and hand jack.
  • The ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Experience working in a high-volume shipping dock.
  • Able to cooperate and work well with others in a team-oriented environment.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Three months’ related experience and/or training

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to candidates with previous related experience
  • Previous success maintaining a strong attendance and on time record

Responsibilities

  • Box covers.
  • Keep separated by plant and school.
  • Maintain needed supplies.
  • Print labels for jobs and place them on appropriate boxes.
  • Maintain proper production rate
  • Keep the area clean and safe.
  • Keep skids available to stack boxed covers.
  • Move skids with hand jacks when full and use hand jacks to move more covers into area.
  • Pull out routing cards when work is completed in your area.
  • When cards are missing check at cloth cutting then your supervisor.
  • Responsible for additional duties as required.
  • Assist in other areas of Cover Plant as workload dictates.
