Your Opportunity: Corporate Graphics Commercial, a Taylor company, is looking for a Binder Operator to work on our bindery equipment that produces softcover and hardcover books at our facility in North Mankato, MN. This position is great for someone who is mechanically inclined and looking to expand their skills! Work Authorization: To be considered for Taylor opportunities, candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical and technical skills/aptitude.
  • Prior experience in a production related environment.
  • Basic math skills to read a ruler and calculate label dimensions for stock optimization.
  • Ability to operate equipment and obtain proficiency as measured through production and quality standards.
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions for work orders.
  • Ability to communicate professionally.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Regularly required to remain in a stationary position; frequently standing for majority of shifts.
  • Constantly operates machinery and handles products including print materials.
  • Frequently required to move inside the facility.
  • Regularly move up to 25+ pounds (lift, push, pull and/or carry).

Responsibilities

  • Carry out precisely detailed instructions from job orders accurately, identify possible errors or problems, and take prompt action to correct them.
  • Set up and adjust our Perfect Binder for job runs to meet specifications.
  • Monitor products for quality during job runs.
  • Check the precision of detail against specifications and take action to correct any problems.
  • Monitor equipment during job runs.
  • Remain alert to any mechanical problems and refer them to maintenance as necessary.
  • Initiate the startup and running of jobs in keeping with production schedule.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and upkeep.
  • Meet standards for output, waste, and spoilage.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines.
  • Keep the workspace clean and organized for efficiency in shift changeovers.
  • Complete related logs and paperwork accurately.
  • Ability to lead and cooperate with a four - person team.
