Bin Tender Needed!! Humboldt Sawmill Company, LLC is seeking a Bin Tender to join our production team based in Scotia, CA. This is an hourly non-exempt position at an hourly rate of $26.65 and includes full benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K match and company paid life insurance. The Bin Tender is responsible for operating a bin sorter and helps keep lumber straight, clear lumber jams and drop units/loads to the stacker in a safe and productive manner. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
  • One-year related sawmill / planer experience and/or training.
  • Employee must be able to read and interpret documents such as instructions, memos, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor bins in the sorter and keep lumber straight in the bins
  • Clear jams in the sorter by proficiently using a chain saw
  • Communicate safe lockout procedures to the trimmer operator
  • Empty full units onto bottom chains and direct units to end stacker
  • Inspect sorter each day for broken or bent tipple arms, broken pusher lugs, air valves shut off, and tipples locked in up position
  • Keep area clean
