About The Position

The Bin Repair Laborer is responsible for the restoration of wooden cranberry crates, involving the removal of defective wood and replacement with new components. This role requires the safe operation of various tools including pneumatic staplers, nail guns, hammers, pry bars, chisels, cutters, and Sawzalls. Key duties also include maintaining a clean and organized work area, reporting operational issues to supervisors, and staging cranberry bins for repair and stacking. The position demands consistent attendance and the ability to work overtime when necessary. Additionally, the laborer will perform forklift operations for staging, loading, unloading, and transporting bins. Support for Receiving Station’s harvest operations, including set-up, monitoring equipment efficiency, and assisting with maintenance and cleanup, is also part of the role. Physical snow removal and operating large equipment for snow removal, along with assisting in waste disposal and maintaining accurate shipment logs, are further responsibilities. Requirements

  • Ability to safely operate tools used for the repair of bins (pneumatic stapler, nail gun, hammer, pry bar, chisel, cutters, Sawzall).
  • Ability to maintain a clean, safe and organized work area.
  • Ability to advise the Supervisor or Lead Worker of any operational problems, equipment failure, or safety and quality issues.
  • Ability to attend work on a timely and consistent basis.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Ability to perform forklift operations.
  • Ability to support Receiving Station’s harvest operations by assisting with harvest set-up, monitoring operational efficiency of assigned harvest equipment, and supporting routine maintenance, sanitation/end of year harvest cleanup.
  • Ability to remove snow physically where needed and by means of large equipment on sidewalks and driving surfaces.
  • Ability to assist with loading truck to dispose of waste produced by the Process and Receiving operations.
  • Ability to maintain accurate logs of inbound and outbound shipments.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable to maintain a clean, safe and organized work area.
  • Advises the Supervisor or Lead Worker of any operational problems, equipment failure, or safety and quality issues.
  • Stages cranberry bin bottoms and sides for stacking and/or repair.
  • Required to attend work on a timely and consistent basis.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Perform forklift operations such as: staging cranberry bins inside/outside the yard, load and unload bins from trucks, and transport bin sides and bottoms into the plant for repair.
  • Support Receiving Station’s harvest operations by: assisting with harvest set-up, monitoring operational efficiency of assigned harvest equipment, and supporting routine maintenance, sanitation/end of year harvest cleanup.
