About The Position
B&I Contractors, Inc. is seeking an experienced and dedicated BIM/VDC Plumbing Coordinator to join our dynamic and expanding team. This full-time position is on-site in Fort Myers, FL, and offers a competitive salary range of $64.1K - $81.2K per year, along with a $1,000 sign-on bonus. The BIM/VDC Plumbing Coordinator will be responsible for developing detailed drawings in accordance with the company's plumbing piping standards, ensuring that work is implemented effectively within cost, schedule, and accuracy parameters. This role requires the completion of accurate and coordinated shop drawings, as well as assisting the plumbing departments with spool drawings and material take-offs from the shop drawings. The successful candidate will work in conformity with the company's Plumbing CAD Standards and detailing practices, participating in the improvement of these standards. Proficiency in software tools such as Revit and Fabrication CADMEP is essential, as the coordinator will produce accurate production-level drawings and stay updated on current and future software developments. The role also involves establishing the required drawings and document formats to complete jobs, verifying that all drawings are complete to a constructible state, and consistently reviewing shop drawings for quality and accuracy before distribution to the field. Effective communication is crucial in this position, as the BIM/VDC Plumbing Coordinator will need to liaise with project supervision to determine detailing scope, participate in project coordination efforts, and communicate any outstanding job or departmental issues with the CAD Manager. The ideal candidate will possess good communication and organizational skills, a minimum of one year of work experience in commercial plumbing, and proficiency with software tools including AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revit, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. This role requires the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment and to interface with construction industry professionals with professionalism and credibility.
