About The Position

Job Summary The BIM/VDC Coordinator manages BIM/VDC coordination to ensure electrical models and deliverables are accurate, constructible, and aligned with project schedules. This role leads trade coordination, drives clash resolution to closure, and keeps the BIM/VDC Modeler and BIM/VDC Detailer working from clear priorities, standards, and milestones. The BIM/VDC Coordinator is accountable for coordination progress, issue escalation, and readiness for prefabrication and field installation.

Requirements

  • Strong BIM/VDC coordination experience in multi-trade environments
  • Constructability-focused decision-making (routing, clearance, sequencing)
  • Proven clash resolution ownership and closure across stakeholders
  • Strong communication to translate field/prefab needs into clear direction
  • Organized and comfortable managing multiple projects

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical construction background (field, prefab, or VDC)
  • Experience with GCs/trade partners in coordination meetings
  • Track record enforcing standards that reduce rework and improve throughout

Responsibilities

  • Coordination Leadership & Trade Alignment: Lead electrical coordination across assigned projects/areas in alignment with GC requirements and multi-trade workflows. Set and maintain priorities. Ensure coordination supports sequencing, access, and constructability per BIM/VDC standards. Schedule/attend kickoff meetings with Project Managers and Field Superintendents and participate in trade coordination meetings.
  • Clash Management & Resolution Ownership: Own the clash process end-to-end—review clash reports/feedback, assign items to Modeler(s), verify resolution, and prevent repeat issues through standards and layout guidance. Triage clashes by risk and drive timely closure.
  • Workflow Management (Modeler + Detailer): Provide clear tasking and handoffs. Direct Modelers on priorities, routing intent, and coordination decisions. Direct Detailers on areas “ready to detail” and which package is needed. Maintain milestone discipline. Balance workload to reduce last-minute churn and protect just-in-time prefab needs. Coordinate with prefab and field teams to improve workflow.
  • Standards, Quality & Constructability: Enforce standards for modeling, coordination, and documentation readiness. Review areas for coordination readiness before release to detailing/issue. Ensure content is fabrication-ready and buildable.
  • Communication & Escalation: Serve as the internal point of contact for coordination status, risks, and blockers. Escalate unresolved conflicts, missing info, or late trade inputs to the BIM/VDC Lead with options and impacts. Translate field/prefab constraints into actionable team direction.
  • Deliverable Readiness Oversight: Ensure drawing packages reflect coordinated/approved model intent and correct revision state.
