About The Position

WSP USA is initiating a search for a BIM Roadway Lead Designer out of our Denver, CO or Salt Lake City, UT office. The Civil BIM Manager is responsible for performing project BIM and Information Management functions for major transportation infrastructure projects. The Civil BIM Manager will be well versed in information management processes and have previous experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams in all aspects of information production, delivery, and exchange. The Civil BIM Manager will also be responsible for managing BIM project delivery both internally and externally to WSP on projects and should have experience running coordination and production delivery meetings. Additional responsibilities include implementing and supervising drawing and modeling standards, managing drawing production, and performing non-routine and complex drafting and modeling assignments through the use of various software programs, primarily OpenRoads Designer, OpenBridge Modeler, OpenRoads ConceptStation, and iTwin Platform. The Civil BIM Manager will report to WSP USA's National Transportation Digital Delivery team and is also responsible for implementing BIM initiatives throughout the Texas region, such as providing guidance to staff with regards to training, company standards, and model development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Environmental Planning, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7-10 years’ experience using Bentley technologies within the A/E/C industry.
  • 6+ years’ experience with Open/Connect Bentley Civil design, documentation, and management.
  • Experience and understanding of document management applications (ProjectWise, Sharepoint, Infrastructure Cloud, ACC, BIM 360, etc.).
  • Proven ability to understand and recognize complex design problems.
  • Effective communication skills with a team-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise BIM work, measurements, documentation, analysis, and portrayal of incoming and existent data.
  • Ensure standard practices to provide technical design assistance and guidance that accounts for the proper illustration, fit form, and function using geometric dimensioning, tolerance and quantity calculations.
  • Acts as a lead consultant regarding work progress and problem resolution.
  • Assist with development and scoping of Civil BIM Manager activities for medium-to large-sized projects.
  • Ensure compliance with guidelines and project-specific procedures.
  • Apply analytical techniques and software to solve larger-scale and complex engineering issues on projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of OpenRoads Designer, OpenBridge Modeler, OpenRoads ConceptStation, and iTwin Platform.
  • Perform Bentley project setups and updates including workspace development and modifications.
  • Implement drawing organization for large, complex drawing packages across multiple companies.
  • Facilitates collaboration and clash detection for a large, multi-discipline project team across multiple companies.
  • Troubleshoots general Bentley project-related issues with limited assistance of department management.
  • Participates in Bentley development.
  • Develops and mentors staff on WSP Bentley standards and processes.
  • Supervise work product compiled and drafted from various sources to support drafting and design activities.
  • Coordinate 3D CAD & BIM work products and work closely with engineers and project managers.
  • Implement asset management and attribute data libraries on large projects.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies, clients, communities, subcontractors, and technical staff.
  • Collaborate with professionals from a variety of disciplines to provide future-ready solutions for clients.
  • Actively engage in business development and proposal writing.
  • Remain current in latest design support practices, methods, procedures, subject matter, techniques, and software.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
