Hoffman Construction is seeking a BIM QAQC Field Engineer. This individual will be an integral member of the on-site BIM Department, providing essential support throughout the lifecycle of a high tech semiconductor construction project. Reporting to the BIM Manager, the role will work closely with site leadership and cross-functional teams to manage day-to-day site activities. They will work closely with BIM Coordinators/Engineers, Project Superintendents, Project Engineers, Construction Managers, QAQC team, and subcontractors to address discovered installation deviations. The BIM QAQC Field Engineer will identify, capture and report the deviations to aid in avoiding costly disputes and/or outdated coordinated model data. This position will be fully at the project site near Boise, Idaho.

  • Identify, capture and report installation deviations outside of project construction tolerances.
  • Set up, maintain and update coordinated model data on mobile model viewing platforms for use in the field, such as the Procore Models and/or SphereXG tool.
  • Train personnel on using mobile model viewing platforms for use in the field, such as the Procore Models tool.
  • Perform deviation analysis using point cloud and coordinated model data.
  • Actively participate in discipline workgroups and taskforce meetings to address new and aging issues.
  • Frequently attend Superintendent whiteboard meetings to remain up to date on current and changing site conditions to plan activities.
  • Produce and distribute weekly and/or milestone issue reports to scope managers and project stakeholders.
  • Participate in technological collaboration between project team members, clients, design team members, builders, consultants, subcontractors, and others.
  • Possess a general understanding of Newforma Konekt to support effective collaboration, issue tracking, and project coordination across teams.
  • Provide clear communication, verbally, written, and electronically.
  • Two to four (2-4) years experience in architectural, engineering or construction (AEC) industry.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or related industry preferred.
  • Experience working in and around data centers, semi-conductors and/or advanced manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM), AutoCAD, Revit.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to work closely with a variety of trade and craft people in a field work situation.
  • Must be a strong team player with the ability to collaborate with various personnel within and across departments and at all levels of leadership.
  • Ability to work well and maintain a cooperative attitude through high-pressure situations.
  • Highly developed visual observation and interpretation skills.
  • Excellent time-management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work while frequently interrupted by phone calls and questions on work in progress.
  • Trained in design document reading and design specifications.
  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point and Teams).
  • Experience with Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) methods and digital fabrication preferred.
  • Proficient in project management software such as Procore and Bluebeam.
  • Experience administering and organizing Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM 360 and other common data environments.
  • Need to have problem-solving skills and be a critical thinker.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Autodesk's Navisworks Manage and ReCap platforms.
  • Ability to read design documentation, details and specifications.
  • Proficient in mobile model viewing platforms, such as the Procore Models tool.
  • Specific experience in industrial and/or advanced manufacturing projects is preferred.
