About The Position

Amazon's Worldwide Grocery Real Estate Growth & Development (WWRGD) - Design Standards Team is looking for a hands-on Building Information Modeling (BIM) Program Manager to own and advance our Building Information Modeling program across Amazon's retail store portfolio. This role sits at the intersection of digital design technology and enterprise-scale program delivery. You'll define how BIM is used, maintained, and governed across store formats, and you'll be the connective tissue between our Design Standards team and the architects of record, engineers, and internal partners who depend on our tools and resources every day. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role for someone who is energized by building structure where there is ambiguity, who can translate complex technical requirements into clear standards, and who thrives in an organization where influence matters more than authority. Critically, this is a practitioner role: you will build and maintain Revit families yourself. On any given day, you might author a Revit family, review BIM Execution Plans with architects, or write governance frameworks for our Main Equipment Library. You'll field daily requests for Revit troubleshooting, family builds, and UNIFI fixes triaging without losing sight of long-term goals. You'll partner with Design Standards on specifications and assemblies, ensuring BIM deliverables integrate with broader documentation. You'll coordinate between upstream teams (Sourcing, Program Design) and downstream partners (Equipment Buying, Merchandising), run reviews, track metrics, identify gaps, and drive alignment — ensuring our BIM program works in the field. The WWRGD Design Standards Team develops and maintains integrated design standards and programmatic design resources for Amazon's retail portfolio enabling architects of record and contractors to efficiently deliver consistent, high-quality store environments at scale. Our products include specifications , construction assemblies, reference architectural sets, and digital tools including Revit/BIM resources. We support all store formats, from Daily Shops to Large Format Suburban stores and new exploratory formats, and we coordinate alignment across format-specific brand experiences.

Requirements

  • Experience using one or more of the following CAD technologies: AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, SolidWorks, CREO, BIM360, SketchUp or KeyShot
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects and initiatives
  • 3+ years of experience in Building Information Modeling (BIM) management, design technology, or construction program management
  • Experience authoring Revit families independently, including parametric families, shared parameters, and nested content

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in retail, grocery, commercial, or large-scale real estate design and construction environments
  • Experience developing BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and information requirements documentation (OIR, AIR, EIR)
  • Knowledge of LOD/LOI frameworks and model coordination workflows (clash detection, federated models)
  • Familiarity with sustainability or building performance data integration into BIM workflows
  • Experience working with architects of record and general contractors on BIM deliverables and compliance
  • Experience working on both the design/construction firm side and the owner side
  • Knowledge of building codes across the US
  • Experience developing, implementing, or managing BIM standards, protocols, or content libraries (e.g., Revit families, MEL, shared parameters)
  • Experience managing asset databases and BIM content management platforms

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage Amazon's BIM program for the Standards Team, including standards development, governance, tooling strategy, and adoption across internal teams and external design partners.
  • Author Revit families independently, build, test, and maintain parametric content from scratch as a core responsibility.
  • Own the end-to-end process for Revit families, from initial development through project implementation, including how family data feeds downstream partners and how that data is managed, updated, and versioned over time.
  • Define and maintain BIM standards, protocols, and execution requirements (BEPs, OIRs, AIRs, LOD frameworks) for use across store formats.
  • Lead development and governance of the Main Equipment Library (MEL), including family standards, naming conventions, shared parameters, and versioning processes.
  • Own the BIM request intake process, triaging requests from internal partners and external consultants. Maintain the UNIFI content library for accuracy and consistency.
  • Drive cross-functional coordination with teams providing inputs to Revit families (Sourcing, Program Design) and downstream partners (Equipment Buying, Merchandising), ensuring alignment on data requirements and workflows.
  • Serve as primary BIM subject matter expert, providing guidance to architects of record and engineering partners.
  • Develop program metrics, training materials, and user guides.
  • Identify workflow gaps and lead initiatives to improve process maturity and documentation quality.
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills, translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Benefits
