Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa, that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world. We are seeking a highly experienced BIM Mechanical Drafter to support advanced Building Information Modeling (BIM) requirements across USSTRATCOM facilities. In this role, you will play a critical role in maintaining accurate digital representations of mechanical systems that support mission-critical infrastructure. As a BIM Mechanical Drafter, you will be responsible for creating, updating, and coordinating BIM models, conducting site verification, and ensuring that mechanical system drawings and documentation reflect real-work conditions. You will support facility upgrades, maintenance planning, and renovation projects by providing precise BIM data essential for engineering and operational decisions. This position is contingent upon the award of the contract, expected period of performance from 2026-2031.

  • Develop, update, and maintain BIM models focusing on mechanical systems using Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Trimble SketchUp.
  • Conduct detailed site visits to validate mechanical equipment installation, routing, connections, and spatial coordination for AS-BUILT documentation.
  • Annotate discrepancies between existing conditions and design documents and incorporate them into BIM models.
  • Support engineering teams by providing accurate BIM data used for maintenance analysis, renovations, and infrastructure modifications.
  • Collaborate with project managers, facility engineers, and operations personnel on BIM updates and model standards.
  • Provide mechanical system insights to support project planning, cost estimating, and technical reviews.
  • Manage model organization, version control, and documentation to align with USSTRATCOM BIM requirements.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any engineering discipline, architecture, construction management, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum three years of experience as a BIM modeler or mechanical drafter with emphasis on mechanical systems, required
  • Must have an active/interim Top Secret/SCI clearance or active Secret Clearance
  • Strong knowledge of BIM methodologies, mechanical engineering concepts, and model coordination workflows, required
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Trimble SketchUp, preferable
  • Ability to perform technical site verification and translate field conditions into accurate digital models.
  • Strong research and analytical skills for updating mechanical BIM data.
