About The Position

Shambaugh & Son L.P. is seeking a BIM Designer who will 3D model and detail piping systems, equipment, and components for local and national mechanical, plumbing, refrigeration, and food process projects. The position involves working with various engineering teams from concept through full 3D design of various piping systems and components. The BIM Designer will be responsible for modifying Process Flow Diagrams/P&IDs, 3D modeling of process equipment assemblies, and whole plant process piping systems, detailing fabrication and installation. The role requires producing well-organized, finished drawings from sketches, flow sheets, and instructions while adhering to team and discipline standards. The designer must check their own work carefully to minimize deficiencies before issuing to fabrication/field and assist with the production of specifications for designs. Additionally, the BIM Designer will provide remote and local support to construction personnel in interpreting and clarifying construction documents, offering timely solutions to field problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Design or Construction Technology
  • Recent college graduates or 5+ years of experience in design and project emphasis in the Food and Beverage industry
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Plant 3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revit, Inventor, & MS Office
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required

Responsibilities
