About the position
The BIM Coordinator will work closely with project managers and engineers to generate detailed drawings and models for building projects. This role involves creating HVAC and plumbing designs, interpreting specifications, and digitizing concepts using specialized software. The position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently while meeting project deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Generate drawings and details for building modeling in collaboration with project managers and engineers.
- Complete basic HVAC and plumbing piping designs and drawings with guidance from project management and engineering teams.
- Assist in the interpretation of drawings and specifications.
- Digitize sketches or concepts from designers using Fabrication MEP software.
- Perform drafting assignments that require judgment in resolving issues or making recommendations related to architecture and building engineering drawings.
- Edit assignments using computer-aided design and drafting equipment and other graphics software to meet deadlines.
- Attend BIM coordination meetings and assist with additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Technical degree desired, but not required with technical experience.
- Proficient computer skills in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude with great attention to detail.
- 2+ years of experience in CAD for building engineering documentation preparation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other BIM software (Revit is a plus).
- Experience with Autodesk CAD-MEP and Autodesk Fabrication MEP.
- Familiarity with plans, specifications, details, operation, and maintenance manuals.
- Experience in commercial drafting for preparation of construction documents is a plus.
- Understanding of mechanical HVAC and plumbing systems and products.
- Ability to work well with others and contribute to a cooperative team atmosphere.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD -Navisworks.
- Familiarity with shop drawings for HVAC and plumbing trades.
