About The Position

The Billing Specialist at Conquest Healthcare Management is responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accuracy in medical coding, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. This role is crucial for the efficiency of healthcare operations, requiring a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding systems, particularly in the long-term care (LTC) skilled nursing facility (SNF) sector.

Requirements

• Five plus years of long-term care SNF industry billing or experience in a CBO setting mandatory.
• Familiarity with the Medicaid payment system in the SNF industry, including TexMed Connect and Simple CFS.
• Understanding of Mesavs and LTCMI's is critical to the role.
• Working knowledge of PCC, Inovalon, Availity, and various Medicaid portals is required.
• Ability to make collection calls to obtain claims status and work denial/appeals in a timely manner.
• Ability to handle a large caseload of billing and claims follow-up weekly.
• Ability to review aging reports weekly and rebill claims accordingly.
• Ability to work complex accounts receivable aging reports effectively.
• Ability to analyze problems, develop solutions, and implement new procedures.
• Ability to prioritize large volumes of work and produce daily billing requirements.
• Good communication skills with management and facility leaders.
• Self-starter with the ability to resolve billing issues with minimal oversight from management.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process and submit medical billing claims using appropriate coding systems such as ICD-10 and ICD-9.
• Review patient records and documentation to ensure all necessary information is captured for billing purposes.
• Perform medical collections by following up on outstanding accounts and resolving discrepancies.
• Maintain organized records of billing transactions and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any issues related to coding or billing discrepancies.
• Stay updated on changes in medical coding guidelines, DRG classifications, and relevant regulations.
• Assist in the management of medical records to ensure they are complete and compliant with legal standards.
