Job Description: Job Purpose The Billing Specialist is responsible for compiling data and submitting claims to insurance companies as well as billing patients.

Requirements

• Must be proficient in using computers and common office equipment.
• Must be detail-oriented and able to prioritize tasks.
• Must be able to complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Must have excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
• Must have high school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

• Prefer at least (1) year experience in medical billing.

Responsibilities

• Input the appropriate diagnostic codes of various medical services and ensure that all diagnostic codes meet all federal, legal, and insurance regulations.
• Enter charges according to business operations and procedural guidelines.
• Post insurance payments to patient accounts.
• Verify that payments received are accurate and correct according to fee schedules.
• Ensure all EOB’s are scanned and saved.
• Review, research and generate third party billing claims
• Perform basic customer service for routine patient or other inquiries.
• Other duties as assigned.
