About The Position

The Billing Specialist at Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine is responsible for the day-to-day processing and maintenance of the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) function, which includes charge data entry, claim generation, and correction of claims. This role emphasizes exceptional customer service and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure a positive patient experience. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, accurate, and efficient, contributing to the organization's mission of delivering high-quality neurosurgical care.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's Degree preferred.
• 3 - 5 years of physician billing experience preferred.
• Excellent work habits with close attention to details.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Good computer, communication, and language skills.
• Demonstrate problem-solving and self-starting skills.
• Ability to analyze data and draw conclusions.
• Basic knowledge of medical billing and coding.
• Excellent math skills to detect billing variances and correct them.
• Ability to work as a team member.
• Personable and courteous in working relationships with internal and external customers.
• Ability to work with a wide range of individuals (physicians, patients, coworkers, management).

Responsibilities

• Process and maintain the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) function.
• Perform charge data entry and claim generation.
• Correct claims and rebill corrected encounters.
• Research, document, and resolve claim edit denials from the EPM system, clearinghouse, and payer.
• Collaborate with physicians, charge posters, accounts receivable representatives, coders, and the patient accounts manager.
