About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Billing Claims Manager, the Billing Specialist LOA will be responsible for reviewing eligible claims for submission to the State (LOA) Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities Reviews eligible claims for compliance with State Is responsible for understanding what qualifies as billable and non-billable for both Medical and dental claims Processes full life of LOA claims. Which includes processing pending claims and then following up on approval and/or rejection Validating/Confirming patient payments is a part of Billing meetings regarding loss of revenue due to missing payments Works with Billing Claims Manager to come up with plans for aiding loss of revenue due to missing payments Answers questions from patients and clerical staff regarding LOA/Uninsured issues or concerns Conducts self in accordance with ZHC’s employee handbook. Maintains the strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations. Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, keyboarding, and use of electronic medical records
  • Ability to operate a computer and basic office equipment.
  • Skill in answering a telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.
  • Must be well organized and detail oriented.
  • Learn and apply the trauma informed care principles with the scope of the position
  • High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities
