About The Position

The position involves obtaining insurance information and referral forms, as well as counseling patients on financial assistance over the phone. The primary duties include obtaining insurance information, communicating with physicians and clinical staff, providing patient scheduling services, reviewing schedules for new patients, and processing internal physician referrals. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience.
  • Relevant experience of 3 years.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain insurance information from patients and counsel on alternative financial assistance options.
  • Communicate with physicians and clinical staff to assist with scheduling urgent or referred patient requests.
  • Provide patient scheduling services, including collecting demographics and insurance registration.
  • Review schedules for new patients and make necessary updates.
  • Call patients with appointment reminders and obtain insurance information and referral forms.
  • Process internal physician referrals for clinical care.
  • Explain the billing process to patients and answer inquiries from patients and third-party payers.
  • Assist with basic account maintenance activities.
  • Help staff with sending out reminder cards and other scheduling duties.
  • Work with the Relatient patient reminder system and contact patients or make scheduling changes.
  • Make daily edits and temporary changes to provider scheduling templates based on physician input.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
