LiveWell Counseling offers evidence-based outpatient mental health services for individuals, couples, and families. The Billing Representative performs all functions related to the billing and collection of outpatient patient accounts. This includes all primary and secondary billing. Demonstrates an understanding of, and embraces, the mission statement of Christian Health.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrates compliance with the CH ASPIRE Standards of Performance.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years healthcare billing experience, which includes all aspects of billing and collection.
  • Excellent computer skills required and must possess the willingness to learn various computer systems.
  • Highly motivated individual and self starter.

Nice To Haves

  • Electronic medical billing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with staff located in the outpatient clinic (i.e. reception staff, office manager and therapists.
  • Post payments and adjustments and denials.
  • Follows up on all outstanding A/R balances including telephone calls and/or letters to patients, sponsors or insurance carriers, including adequate documentation of results.
  • Follow-up on unpaid self-pay accounts including phone calls to patients, alerting manager with documentation and identify accounts for collection.
  • Performs audit and collection follow-up of selected patient accounts as defined by the Director of Fin. Ser.
  • Prepares other various routine and periodic reports neatly and accurately.
  • Generates and mail self-pay statements.
  • Assists with other billing areas as needed.
  • Generate all insurance claims including coinsurance claims and forwards to appropriate payor and reviews for accuracy prior to submission.
  • Insurance verification.
