About The Position

Billing Coordinator Position Summary The Billing Coordinator is responsible for managing billing processes to ensure accurate, timely invoicing and payment collection. This role supports financial operations by coordinating billing activities, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree preferred
  • 1–3 years of billing, accounts receivable, or healthcare billing experience preferred
  • Knowledge of billing systems, EHR/EMR platforms, or accounting software
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Medical billing and coding knowledge (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) – if healthcare-based
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Time management and multitasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Customer service and conflict resolution skills

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and submit accurate invoices based on services rendered or contractual agreements
  • Verify billing information, coding, and documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Coordinate with internal departments (clinical, administrative, or sales teams) to resolve billing issues
  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances
  • Process payments, adjustments, refunds, and credits as needed
  • Respond to patient, client, or customer billing inquiries in a professional and timely manner
  • Maintain organized billing records and ensure confidentiality of financial information
  • Assist with audits, reports, and month-end reconciliation
  • Ensure compliance with billing regulations, payer requirements, and organizational policies
