About The Position
Come and join our team! A medical facility in Tyler is seeking to hire a Billing and Coding Specialist Monday - Friday 9am-5pm Pay: $16-$18 per hour
Requirements
- Proficiency in EHR systems, medical billing software, and Microsoft Excel
- Understanding of ICD-10 codes and insurance payer rules such as medicare, medicaid, private insurance
- High School Diploma
Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance, demographics, and authorization to minimize denials
- Ensure accurate medical coding (ICD-10, CPT) and charging for services
- Submitting electronic claims to payers and following up on denied or unpaid claims
- Monitor outstanding balances, handling collections, and managing payment posting
- Adhere to regulatory guidelines (HIPAA) to prevent financial or legal risks
