Summary of Position The Billing Clerk, Hospital-Based Operations, is responsible for accurately entering manual billing charges into the billing system and monitoring billing work queues to ensure timely processing. This role focuses on data entry, verifying charge information, maintaining accuracy, and identifying any discrepancies for correction. The Billing Clerk helps support revenue cycle operations by ensuring claims are submitted efficiently and in compliance with company policies and procedures. Strong attention to detail, basic computer skills, and the ability to manage routine tasks in a timely manner are essential for success in this position.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma
  • 1-year related office experience including familiarity with Microsoft Office products.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with billing systems strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Requesting missing billing/patient information from the clients via email, electronic medical records, fax, and/or phone.
  • Processing and entering pathology reports into the billing system.
  • Uploading of all documents received for billing systems.
  • Managing queues in the billing system to support billing team.
  • Managing and Filing patient records in storage as needed.
  • Perform related responsibilities as required and/or directed by management.
