About The Position

Responsible for submitting and following up on insurance claims, billing patients, resolving payment issues, and maintaining patient records. Requirements

  • Proficiency with medical billing and electronic health record (EHR) software.
  • Understanding of medical coding systems like CPT and ICD-10.
  • Familiarity with claim forms, such as CMS-1500 and UB-04.
  • Strong verbal and written communication for interacting with patients and insurance agents.
  • Exceptional organizational and attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills to resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

  • An associate's degree or professional certification is preferred.
  • Previous experience in medical billing or a related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Submit clean claims to payers such as Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurers.
  • Bill patients for their out-of-pocket expenses and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Process, post, and reconcile payments from insurance companies and patients to ensure accounts are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Follow up on denied or unpaid claims, identify reasons for denial, and submit appeals when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient billing records and ensure all documentation is organized for retrieval.
  • Adhere to billing regulations and HIPAA privacy rules to ensure patient data is secure.
