About The Position

Summary: Creates researches and analyzes billing, management reports and journal entries from payroll and budget data and provides all related customer support. Verifies and updates billing systems to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:   · Provides customer service relations by researching and resolving customer and field billing inquiries.   · Manages complex billing adjustments and requirements.   · Prepares Labor Reports and examines budget to actual data to determine all sources causing material variances and identify trends to bring to the attention of the Regional and Local Management teams.   · Prepares payroll journal entries and the associated bonus and worker compensation accruals from payroll data and formats them for import into Great Plains.   · Identifies payroll variants, reports them to the payroll department and adjusts all affected billing, reports and labor journal entries to account for the variants.   · Analyzes and answers Financial Statement revenue and labor questions posed by Staff Accountants and other Company Executive and Management teams and create adjusting journal entries or assist with required plans of action.   · Creates specialized reporting or estimated revenue that includes analysis or summation of current, historic and/or year-to-date direct labor and revenue components when requested to assist Customers, Executive and Management teams, Business Development, Field Operations and Accounting in business decision making.   · Presents and prepares training material and information to field managers, other CSC employees and Executive and Management teams related to essential duties and responsibilities.   · Reviews and approves billing components of pending contracts presented during the contract evaluation process.   · Innovates billing and labor report processes to conform to new contract requirements or changes to existing contracts with focus on efficiency, value added and quality improvement.   Other Duties and Responsibilities:   · Performs project management related to essential duties and responsibilities as assigned by immediate supervisor.   · Provides notification of software resources for obtaining data from the payroll system as needed for standardization, code changes or additions and version changes with the payroll software system.   · Updates documentation as changes occur in essential duty processes and communicates changes or updates related to essential duties and responsibilities to immediate supervisor.   · Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Have excellent command of all Microsoft Office software and the ability to quickly learn other software needed to perform essential duties and responsibilities.
  • Have thorough understanding of debits and credits and the relationship of financial factors like budgeted hours and average wage rates to budget preparation and P&L performance.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook or equivalent electronic mail application.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Occasionally employee must work extended hours that require intense focus. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. Must be able to type and use a calculator.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Access, Accounting Software, Crystal Reports and ADP Payroll Software desirable but not required.
