About The Position

The position involves providing instruction to individual and small groups of students, assisting them in the use of instructional materials and aids, and helping with personal care activities as applicable. The role requires utilizing personal skills to support the instructional program as directed by the teacher and providing valuable information about students to aid in the development of appropriate learning activities. Additionally, the position includes the implementation of behavior modification strategies and data collection, as well as participation in professional development activities as directed by administration.

Requirements

• Must hold a valid NYS Level I, II, or III Teaching Assistant Certification or NYS Teacher Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to individual and small groups of students.
• Assist students in the use of instructional materials and aids.
• Assist students with activities of personal care/hygiene/toileting as applicable.
• Utilize personal skills to assist in the instructional program as directed by the teacher.
• Provide the teacher with information about the students that will assist in the development of appropriate learning activities.
• Implementation of behavior modification and other data collection.
• Participate in professional development activities as directed by administration.
