About The Position

Wellness Together, a California nonprofit, is on a powerful mission: to champion the mental health of California's students and families. We forge dynamic partnerships with schools, bridging the gap to vital mental health services. Our groundbreaking model teams up with K-12 schools to bring accessible, cutting-edge social-emotional support directly to students on campuses statewide. We’re seeking a Student Support Counselor to provide crisis-focused mental health services in school settings. You’ll support students referred by school staff during moments of acute need by delivering crisis intervention,risk assessments, and safety planning. This role is ideal for a compassionate mental health professional dedicated to making a meaningful impact on youth and school communities. While this role includes developing therapeutic relationships through individual and group work, a primary function of this position is crisis response.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field
  • Registration in good standing with the California BBS (AMFT, ACSW, APCC, LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC)
  • Spanish required, Mixtec preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience working with youth experiencing trauma (preferred)
  • Experience in school-based crisis management (preferred)
  • Knowledge of evidence-based interventions (CBT, ACT, DBT)

Responsibilities

  • Provide crisis intervention, risk assessments, and case management
  • Deliver individual and group counseling to students
  • Develop and implement short-term intervention plans
  • Work closely with school staff and external mental health agencies
  • Offer training for students, parents, and educators
  • Maintain thorough documentation of services provided
  • Ensure ethical, evidence-based mental health practices
  • Spanish required, Mixtec preferred.
