JOB SUMMARY Under the general supervision of a Speech and Language Pathologist or Program Specialist, the Speech and Language Pathology Assistant will perform services and consultation with teachers at a school site, provide activities designed to develop language skills and articulation skills, including speech production, vocalization and social pragmatics in students with speech/language disorders. Other duties may include administrative work, meetings, and collaborations with staff and parents. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Conduct speech-language screenings using a variety of screening tools and techniques Follow documented therapy plans Support the SLP with contacting families to arrange IEP meetings. Document student progress in IEP system Prepare therapy materials for use in pullout small group setting or in classroom setting Adapt or modify instructional materials as determined by student need and abilities for teacher-use in the classroom Consult with general ed teachers to co-plan instructional materials or implement strategies Track performance data using progress monitoring tools and report progress on IEP goals Assist with IEP progress monitoring under the supervision of the SLP. Creates and maintains safe, positive environment for students Collaborates with members of IEP Team, Special Education team and School site teams Demonstrate knowledge of, and support, Aspire Public Schools mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior Perform other related duties as required and assigned Additional: Demonstrate knowledge of, and support, the Aspire Public Schools mission, vision, value statements including antiracism, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior. Comfortable with utilization of technology in a remote environment. Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
