Summary The primary responsibility of the Bilingual Spanish Specialty Pharmacist is to ensure accuracy when performing all duties associated with the dispensing of pharmaceuticals, provide customer service to patients and healthcare professionals, and provide leadership and guidance to supporting staff.

Requirements

  • BS Pharmacy required, PharmD preferred
  • Active/Clear License to practice Pharmacy in the state of Florida required
  • Ability to become licensed in multiple states as required
  • Two years minimum of pharmacy experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty pharmacist certification is preferred.
  • Specialty pharmacy experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Power Point and Access preferred

Responsibilities

  • Interpreting prescribers’ prescriptions
  • Take and pass out-of-state pharmacist licenses
  • Contacting prescribers and/or patients to verify information on prescriptions and expedite processing of patient orders
  • Tracking order status and resolving outstanding issues
  • Consulting with patients regarding the use of medications and potential drug interactions
  • Taking calls from patients regarding clinical issues related to orders or dispensing
  • Maintain daily production, quality and service levels
  • Vary work priorities and activities to accommodate business needs
  • May train less experienced pharmacists
  • Maximizes positive results in the areas of service and quality
  • Operates in accordance and complies with all Federal and State pharmacy rules and regulations, and company policies and procedures
  • Provide oversight and quality assurance to pharmacy technicians
  • Verify and confirm validity of all prescriptions, including controlled substance prescriptions
  • Verify the accuracy of prescription information entered into the system by data entry or order entry personnel and product selection of dispensed medications
  • Work with physicians to convert prescriptions to generic or preferred drugs whenever possible
  • Back up other pharmacists as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules especially during times of peak volume
