Position Overview GLP Attorneys is seeking a Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) Legal Assistant to join our Wenatchee office. This is a full-time, in-office position with working hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. This is a hybrid role in function, meaning the position combines substantive legal assistant responsibilities with front desk and office operations support and does not include remote work. The position is fast-paced, high-volume, and involves frequent client and visitor interaction. In this role, you will primarily support an attorney and their case load while also serving as the primary point of contact for clients, visitors, vendors, and staff. This role includes front desk coverage and administrative responsibilities that are essential to the smooth daily operations of the office.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; advanced education or paralegal certification preferred.
  • Previous experience as a legal assistant or in a professional office setting is highly desired.
  • Prior experience in plaintiffs’ personal injury law is preferred.
  • Previous clerical or front desk experience is preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills with a positive, professional, can-do attitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfort communicating with clients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies by phone and email.
  • Typing proficiency of at least 50 words per minute.
  • Ability to proofread legal documents accurately.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Basic understanding of office equipment and clerical systems such as recordkeeping and filing.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team environment.
  • Understanding of confidentiality requirements and professionalism in a legal setting.
  • Must be bilingual (Spanish-speaking)

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Managing Partner and Attorney of the Wenatchee office to support the legal team and manage an active personal injury case load.
  • Set up new client files, maintain and update case records, and assist with all phases of case progression.
  • Assist with PIP claims and ensure account balances and documentation are accurate and current.
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status, next steps, and required documentation.
  • Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and other third parties to request records, verify balances, and resolve issues.
  • Manage medical bill payments and track liens, balances, and related documentation.
  • Handle client correspondence, respond to inquiries, and conduct client reviews as needed.
  • Schedule walk-in new client intakes and collect initial accident details and contact information.
  • Welcome and assist clients, visitors, and vendors as the front desk point of contact.
  • Answer and route phone calls and emails professionally and efficiently.
  • Schedule appointments and manage referrals.
  • Receive, review, organize, scan, and distribute mail and incoming correspondence, including mail received for other office locations.
  • Handle outgoing mail, including routine mail drop-offs.
  • Perform data entry, scanning, filing, and file closing tasks in accordance with firm procedures.
  • Maintain inventory of office supplies, including envelopes, printer paper, and writing supplies, and coordinate restocking as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of snacks and beverages, prepare vendor restock lists, and ensure client areas remain stocked.
  • Ensure the lobby is stocked, organized, and client-ready at all times.
  • Maintain the kitchen by keeping it neat, stocked, and organized.
  • Assist with the organization and cleanliness of shared office spaces, including the lobby, conference room, kitchen, and refrigerator.
  • Perform routine office operational tasks such as printing stamps.
  • Assist with office events, programs, and special projects on an ad hoc basis.
  • Perform additional administrative and legal support duties as assigned, including supporting client account management.
