About The Position

The Community Support Specialist plays a vital role in assisting and empowering pet owners by providing resources and information related to pet care and support services. This position is public-facing and operates from the Pet Help Center, focusing on addressing pet-related concerns and connecting clients with appropriate assistance options. The specialist will communicate effectively with community members, assess their needs, and guide them towards beneficial resources, all while being fluent in both English and Spanish.

Requirements

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to assess client needs and provide appropriate resources.

Nice To Haves

• Six months to one year of related experience in social or human services.
• Basic knowledge of animal behavior and common veterinary concerns.
• Enthusiasm for the mission of the Humane Society of Charlotte.

Responsibilities

• Assist pet owners in solving pet-related concerns by providing resources and information.
• Communicate with community members seeking guidance on financial assistance and pet support.
• Assess client needs to identify the most beneficial resources for individual situations.
