About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Hawthorne, CA Details: In-Person Tutoring in Hawthorne, CA Schedule: 10 hours, 2 sessions for 1.15 hrs Pay range is between $25 and $35 Ideal Candidate: Highly experienced Spanish/English bilingual tutor with a background supporting students with intellectual disabilities and IEPs. Strong understanding of foundational literacy development , including early reading skills, decoding, and comprehension at the elementary level. Strong understanding of foundational math skills , including number sense, basic operations, and early problem-solving strategies. Patient, encouraging, and dependable, with the ability to provide structured, step-by-step instruction while keeping sessions engaging. Comfortable implementing assessments to determine instructional levels and guide individualized lesson planning. Skilled in using repetition, guided practice, and visual supports to reinforce learning and improve retention. Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized instruction focused on foundational literacy and math skills aligned with early elementary levels.
  • Support reading development, comprehension, and basic writing skills across content areas.
  • Strengthen math understanding through guided practice in number sense, operations, and problem-solving.
  • Administer an initial assessment to evaluate current academic levels and inform instructional goals.
  • Create structured, engaging lessons that balance skill-building with confidence-building.
  • Track academic progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed to support continued growth.
