Requirements

  • Must be Bilingual: fluent in English and Spanish; comfortable interpreting safety/operating documentation, writing routine reports, presenting to small groups, and addressing sensitive inquiries.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of related experience/training in meat processing or similar operations; or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • HACCP Certified.
  • Professional demeanor, strong interpersonal skills for sensitive/confidential matters, minimal travel, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day harvest operations to elevate labor efficiency, yields, materials usage, and machine performance.
  • Be a core member of the management team and take on additional assignments at the direction of the Operations Manager and General Manager.
  • Design and maintain production schedules; set and communicate clear departmental goals and expectations.
  • Lead supervisors and staff: recruiting, performance coaching, corrective action, development, training, and resource planning.
  • Develop and steward budgets and production forecasts; present insights to leadership.
  • Produce and deliver reports on forecasts, productivity, and safety outcomes.
  • Align workforce scheduling and employee placement to hit or exceed facility and company targets.
  • Diagnose production problems and implement effective corrective actions with technical rigor.
  • Manage purchasing of departmental equipment and supplies.
  • Deploy structured problem-solving, team-building, process control, and CI tools to achieve key operating statistics.
  • Track throughput and efficiency; intervene quickly to protect output and quality.
  • Embed safety standards that meet legal requirements and company policy.
  • Ensure compliance with USDA, FDA, EPA, and OSHA.
