In this role you can expect to perform a wide variety of analytical and technical assignments in the Program Communications unit developing/writing member communication materials for consumers, including Spanish translations. You will ensure all regulatory required materials related to eligibility and enrollment are met for content, readability, and translation. You will work closely with IT development teams on notice-related automation needs in our application system. Duties may include access to information systems containing protected enrollee information, including federal tax information, protected health information, and personally-identifying information. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee's designated headquarters office subject to regulations and bargaining unit contract provisions. Travel expenses associated with commuting to the employee's office headquarters location are not reimbursable, other than authorized transit subsidies. Requirements

  • Applicants must be reachable on an employment list, have transfer eligibility, or have reinstatement eligibility.
  • If you are new to California State service and you do not have list eligibility, you must take the exam for this classification.
  • Possession of minimum qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment.
  • The position(s) require(s) fluency in the Spanish language. If the State of California does not have a current record documenting your fluency in this language, you will be required to successfully pass an approved language fluency test prior to being hired.
  • A SOQ is required to apply.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year working in or with application systems/online consumer portals
  • 1+ year on projects with cross-functional teams independently, providing analysis and recommendations in alignment with business needs.
  • 1+ year writing consumer-facing, plain-language content in English and Spanish (6th grade level)
  • 2+ years professional English to Spanish translation
  • Technical problem-solver, analytical, proactive, detail-oriented, organized
