About The Position

Under direct supervision, the Bilingual Personal Banker provides exceptional customer service, involving the receipt and payment of cash, within a high-volume, sales-driven environment. The role involves evaluating customer relationships, both new and existing, to offer bank products and services, while adhering to established bank policies and supervisor's directions. This position is accountable for achieving monthly new account production goals set by upper management and requires participation in an active sales environment, potentially including in-store aisle prospecting. The banker will process various financial transactions accurately, including deposits, payments, money orders, cashier's checks, bank-to-bank wires, certificates of deposit, Western Union wires, and cash advances. A key aspect is cross-selling bank services and products to a diverse customer base, specifically including a large Spanish-speaking population. The role also involves performing other tasks as requested by supervisors that relate to the bank's functions, with regular and predictable attendance and punctuality being essential. Approval limits are based on established authority levels.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma, high school equivalency or currently attending high school
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in both Spanish and English
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must successfully pass background investigation according to company policy
  • Must be able to get along with co-workers and work effectively in a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Six months of work experience in a retail or customer service environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service, involving receipt and payment of cash, while working in a high volume, sales environment
  • Evaluate customer relationships, new and existing account holders, to offer bank products and services
  • Follow established policies in accordance with the bank and the supervisor's direction
  • Be accountable for the personal achievement of monthly new account production as assigned by upper management
  • Participate in an active sales environment that may require in-store aisle prospecting
  • Process deposits and pay out funds in accordance with bank procedures, to record all transactions accurately and balance each day's operations
  • Receive cash and checks for deposit, verify amounts, and look for check endorsements
  • Examine cash carefully to guard against acceptance of counterfeit checks and identification
  • Enter transactions into computer and issue customer receipts
  • Sell and prepare money orders, cashier's checks, bank-to-bank wires, and certificates of deposit
  • Process western union wires and cash advances
  • Cross-sell bank services and products
  • Provide bank services to a diverse customer base, including a large Spanish speaking population
  • Perform other tasks requested by supervisors as they relate to the bank and its functions
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance and punctuality
