About The Position

The Bilingual Patient Enrollment Specialist/Prescreen Nurse plays a vital role in the clinical trial matching process by educating patients about study opportunities and assessing their eligibility for clinical research trials. This position involves close collaboration with the study team, investigators, and sponsors to ensure a smooth enrollment process and effective communication with patients.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience in clinical trials
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication, listening, and relationship-building skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with clinical trial management systems (CTMS)
  • Knowledge of neuropsychiatric or gastrointestinal assessments

Responsibilities

  • Manage the pre-screen process for incoming candidates to identify quality patients for study-specific trials.
  • Collect and document patient medical history, medication list, family medical history, pending or planned surgeries, vacations, etc.
  • Navigate the CTMS system, CRIO, to schedule patient screening visits, including rater, physician, and pharmacy time.
  • Read and interpret study-specific protocols, including Inclusion and Exclusion criteria, and relay this information to patients.
  • Conduct cognitive or pain assessments based on the patient's study indication of interest and communicate results appropriately.
  • Submit monthly metrics on prescreens conducted, screens scheduled, and screen fails.
  • Maintain the prescreen log and submit study-specific prescreen logs.
  • Attend and contribute to weekly recruitment and clinical meetings.
  • Communicate protocol issues to the study team, Clinical Lead, Site Director, Principal, or Sub-Investigator.
  • Collect initial neuropsychiatric or gastrointestinal and medical information by interviewing patients and accessing other sources.
  • Perform clinical tasks such as vital signs, height and weight, ECG, phlebotomy, and specimen packaging as needed.
  • Assist with patient follow-ups and contribute to the development of recruitment materials.
