About The Position

The Bilingual Outreach and CPS Liaison position focuses on promoting the safety, healing, and empowerment of victims of domestic abuse through trauma-informed advocacy and case management services. The role serves as a liaison between Child Protective Services (CPS) and families engaged in services at HDNBC, ensuring effective communication and support for clients in need.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or related fields; experience may be used in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience in crisis intervention, casework services, counseling, advocacy, and coordination of services, preferably in family violence.
  • Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office Suite and cloud-based storage systems.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Supports a victim-centered and trauma-informed advocacy approach with compassion, empathy, and care.
  • Provides advocacy support to all individuals seeking services at HDNBC outreach centers.
  • Assesses clients' needs and determines their appropriateness for the services of HDNBC.
  • Makes referrals to appropriate community resources for clients deemed not appropriate for or in need of additional services.
  • Conducts client intakes to establish safety plans, identify basic needs, and evaluate client requests for additional services.
  • Coordinates assistance with other service providers, such as engaging clients in the coordinated access system (CAS) process for housing assistance.
  • Proactively manages client caseload through regular follow-up calls and scheduling client intakes and follow-up services.
  • Receives and assesses urgent calls for services to determine immediate safety and crisis needs.
  • Develops, maintains, and updates resource list for client services.
  • Provides accompaniment upon client request for law enforcement interviews, court hearings, and meetings with other service providers.
  • Maintains regular contact and provides advocacy to all HDNBC clients awaiting outreach services.
  • Reviews and responds to email requests for service and provides referrals or schedules appointments as appropriate.
  • Ensures weekly utilization rate is at or above agency standards.
  • Participates in scheduled individual client staffing meetings, team meetings, and multi-disciplinary meetings.
  • Maintains case files and client notes in a timely manner by entering client plans and case notes into the agency database.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with community service providers to facilitate referrals and coordination of services for clients.
  • Provides consultation regarding client advocacy needs for staff and volunteers as needed.
  • Develops and provides individual and group education and support sessions.
  • Acts as primary contact for CPS regarding referrals or services requested.
  • Manages caseloads of CPS referred clients and coordinates services with CPS Liaison.
  • Attends CPS meetings as required and plans training and events to improve coordination between CPS and HDNBC.
  • Trains staff on updated CPS guidelines regarding reporting requirements.
