About The Position

Bilingual Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) Quaint Oak Mortgage is hiring a Bilingual Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO). Location: 100 Spring Garden St., Philadelphia, PA Position Summary: As a Mortgage Loan Originator, you will be responsible for assisting clients in obtaining mortgage loans and guiding them through the application and approval process. You will play a crucial role in helping individuals and families achieve their dreams of homeownership by providing excellent customer service and expert advice. The ideal candidate should have an understanding of mortgage products, be detail-oriented, and possess exceptional communication and sales skills. As an MLO, you may be part of a team with a Mortgage Banker as a senior member. The Mortgage Banker will help the MLO through mentoring and ongoing training. Additionally, the MLO will also be available to help the Mortgage Banker and team by performing additional duties as needed, with a primary focus on main job duties of originating loans.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish Ability to respond to client inquiries in Spanish and English, both verbal and written
  • High School Diploma/GED required; business-related bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of residential and/or commercial lending or real estate experience
  • NMLS National Registration required
  • Current knowledge of loan programs, industry requirements & regulations
  • Ability to cross-sell financial products and services a must
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have an understanding of appraisals, title insurance, real estate contracts and real estate transactions
  • Highly disciplined, independent, confident, self-starter
  • Knowledge of MS Office, Outlook, and applicable Loan Origination software and applications

Responsibilities

  • Assess Client Needs: Meet with clients to understand their financial goals and assess their eligibility for mortgage loans.
  • Evaluate client’s financial information, credit history, and employment status to determine suitable mortgage options.
  • Assist through the loan application process, which includes completing applications, answering questions, coordinating between clients, vendors & internal departments as well as attending client closings.
  • Provide Expert Advice: Educate clients about different mortgage products, interest rates, and terms.
  • Guide clients through the application process, explaining the requirements, necessary documentation, and timelines involved.
  • Originate Loans: Collect and review client’s loan applications, ensuring all necessary initial documents are completed accurately and efficiently in order to submit the loan for processing and underwriting. This includes the initial disclosures (URLA, Loan Estimate, etc.) being sent to the borrower, signed (electronically or “wet”) and returned.
  • Build and Maintain Relationships: Cultivate relationships with clients, as well as real estate agents, builders, financial planners, and other potential referral sources to generate new leads and expand the customer base.
  • Attend networking and industry events, participate in community outreach programs, and engage in other activities to promote the organization's mortgage services.
  • Assist in lead generation through sales & marketing activities, which may include social media marketing.
  • Compliance and Regulations: Stay up-to-date on industry regulations, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Ensure all loan-related activities adhere to legal and ethical standards, including fair lending practices and customer privacy requirements.
  • Achieve Sales Targets: Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets by proactively identifying and pursuing business opportunities.
  • Cross-sell additional financial products and services to existing and prospective clients to maximize revenue generation. Including title services, insurance, and banking and financial services available through the Quaint Oak Family of Companies.
  • Maintain Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough records of client interactions, loan applications, and all supporting documentation.
  • Utilize loan origination systems and software to track and manage customer information, loan status, and other relevant data.
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by promptly responding to inquiries, resolving concerns, and providing clear and accurate information throughout the loan process.
  • Ensure a smooth and positive experience for clients, building long-term relationships and fostering customer loyalty.
  • Administrative duties including database maintenance, file management, status updates & weekly pipeline meetings.
  • Additional duties as needed.
