About The Position

The Bilingual Instructor is responsible for collaborating with a content instructor to provide contextualized bilingual instruction (Spanish and English) to students enrolled in non-credit Workforce Development courses.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• At least 6 months of teaching experience
• Ability to teach in both English and Spanish languages
• Experience working with a diverse population
• Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility and ability to respond appropriately to multiple requests in a changing work environment while maintaining the focus required to see tasks to completion

• Familiarity with digital learning

Responsibilities

• Co-plan with the content instructor to design dynamic instruction in line with the needs of the students in the class.
• Utilize the established curriculum and content that has been designed/selected for the course.
• Identify appropriate curricular resources and translate materials as needed.
• Co-teach with the content instructor in Spanish and English to support students' development of language skills.
• Conduct courses on the STCC campus or off-campus at a community partner location.
• Deliver differentiated classroom instruction in a variety of formats including large group, small group, one-on-one and computerized instruction.
• Collaborate with the content instructor to pre- and post-assess student learning and keep accurate attendance, grades, and skills information as required for the specific certification by the licensing agency.
• Regularly communicate with students to support enrollment, orientation, retention, and successful completion of the course.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
