About The Position

Dragonfly Cares is seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish), credentialed Special Education Teacher to provide individualized in-home instruction to children with autism and developmental disabilities. This role is ideal for a dedicated educator who is passionate about reaching diverse families and bridging language barriers to deliver exceptional care in the home and community. Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field
  • Valid New York State Certified Special Education Teacher certification(SWD)
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish - required; additional languages welcomed
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities
  • Proficiency in data collection, progress monitoring, and IEP goal implementation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish
  • Ability to work independently in home-based settings and as part of a collaborative team
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience delivering Parent Counseling and Training (PCT) sessions, particularly with bilingual families
  • Experience implementing in-home Behavior Intervention Services (BIS)
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or BCBA coursework
  • Familiarity with ABA-based therapy platforms and electronic data collection tools
  • Experience with IEP development and CPSE/CSE processes in New York State
  • Fluency in additional languages beyond English and Spanish
