About The Position

Lead the lamb harvest operation with meaningful impact on yield, quality, and safety. Use your bilingual (English/Spanish) skills to coach, train, and communicate across a diverse team. Own schedules, budgets, and continuous improvement in a regulated environment (USDA/FDA/EPA/OSHA).

Requirements

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) – required.
  • Comfortable reading technical documents, writing routine reports, presenting to small groups, and handling sensitive inquiries.
  • High school diploma or GED; 3+ years related experience/training or equivalent combination.
  • HACCP Certification – required.
  • Professional presence, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to multitask across priorities; minimal travel.

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily harvest activities to improve manpower efficiency, yields, material use, and machine utilization.
  • Collaborate as part of the management team; take on duties assigned by the Operations Manager and General Manager.
  • Build and manage production schedules; set departmental objectives and expectations for people and output.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead the team: hiring, performance management, discipline, training, and resource planning.
  • Create and manage departmental budgets and production forecasts.
  • Compile and present reporting on forecasts, productivity, and safety metrics.
  • Optimize workflow, labor scheduling, and employee placement to meet/exceed company targets.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Oversee purchasing of supplies and equipment for the department.
  • Apply problem-solving, team-building, process control, and continuous improvement methodologies to hit key KPIs.
  • Monitor throughput and efficiencies; act quickly to protect both quality and volume goals.
  • Implement and maintain safety standards aligned with legal and company requirements.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with USDA, FDA, EPA, and OSHA.
