The Multi-Classroom Teacher Leader (MCL) extends instructional planning and delivery expertise across multiple classrooms allowing more scholars to receive the benefits of a high-quality teacher. This position is an entry-level leadership position. Based on the desires of the candidate, the MCL is able to develop into a campus leader or remain an expert teacher leader. Candidates do not have to desire advancement to a campus leadership position to be considered for the MCL position. Candidates do not need prior experience in leadership. The MCL will be provided with the leadership coaching necessary to successfully lead the Teacher Fellow. The MCL position is similar to the traditional teacher position in that the MCL is responsible for planning, organizing, and presenting activities contributing to the educational, social, and physical development of students to enhance their self-worth and equip them with the basic knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to function in society. Considerable judgment, tact, patience, sensitivity, and flexibility are required to deal with students from varied socioeconomic backgrounds and learning styles. This position requires creativity and adaptive thinking to match teaching objectives, learning strategies, and instructional plans with students' abilities. The MCL also leads the weekly activities of a Teacher Fellow who assists in the planning and delivery of instruction across the same multiple classrooms led by the MCL. Teacher Fellows are aspiring teachers and the MCL leads the development of the instructional expertise of the Teacher Fellow. The MCL is also supported by instructional coaches who direct the development of the Teacher Fellow's classroom management skills.
